Falconry, forests and feathery friends
Carey and David’s awesome woodland wedding
Carey and David chose a really cool venue in Nottingham for their April wedding with views overlooking a forest.
This is one of my favourite weddings; it was filled with fun and had some lovely personal touches. I particularly loved the bouquet with all of the feathers and Carey was sporting some wonderful pompom sandals come the evening!
Guests had a little feathery surprise during the intimate ceremony when David called a beautiful barn owl to deliver the rings. There’s an old saying in film to never work with children or animals and this cheeky countryside bird showed us why when she swooped down to David’s outstretched arm before soaring above and perching just nicely out of reach in the rafters, with the rings! Cue lots of laughter from everyone and it’ll definitely be a talking point of Carey and David’s wedding for years to come.
One of my favourite parts of this wedding was the reception, where guests were treated to a selection of stunning birds of prey. They were a resounding hit and made for a fantastic photo opportunity.
The first dance to Perfect by Ed Sheeran was beautifully filmed - shout out to cameraman extraordinaire Stuart who got some really fantastic footage all day and guests were so happy to be filmed by someone they know.
A top day all round, finished off with some karaoke and dancing. Wish I’d been invited myself!
Congratulations Carey and David. I really loved editing your special day.
